Elementary Program

6 to 12 Years

The elementary child is characterized by the reasoning mind.  Dr. Montessori wrote “..it is a period of power and mental strength.”  The questions are endless.  Why, how, when, what… the elementary child strives to understand the universe.

This program is rich in activities that foster the child’s intellectual, emotional, and physical development. Subjects explored in depth include History, Geography, Biology, Mathematics, Geometry, Language, Music, and Art.

The Montessori elementary program consists of a lower elementary (first through third grade) and upper elementary (fourth through sixth grade). MVM has two lower and two upper elementary classes.

Children without Montessori Children’s House experience are considered for enrollment depending on individual circumstances.

Elementary students engage in tasks to:

  • Satisfy intellectual reasoning

  • Learn to work collaboratively

  • Utilize their imagination

  • Effectively communicate

  • Construct a code of morality

  • Develop their full potential
